Experimental study of CO<sub>2</sub> adsorption using activated carbon

Abstract The current study aimed to investigate the CO 2 adsorption isotherms of activated carbon (AC), prepared from olive waste via chemical activation by H 3 PO 4 . textural parameters, microstructural and morphological characterization AC were characterized N2 adsorption-desorption, SEM XRD. presented best properties with a BET surface area 1565 m g −1 micropore volume 0.649 cm was measured volumetric method at three various temperatures: 298 K, 308 K 318 K. Different models, such as Langmuir Freundlich isotherms, applied model adsorption. Based on correlation coefficient (R ), provided fit experimental data. thermodynamic functions, Gibbs free energy entropy, calculated using Van Hoff’s formulation. These parameters indicated that is an exothermic spontaneous process. results obtained in this can serve benchmark while designing adsorption-based gas storage system.
